As Sunny Deol continues to enjoy the success of his recent film “Gadar 2,” he is facing a growing predicament. A notice from a bank, published in a newspaper, has indicated that his property, Sunny Villa, located in Juhu, is slated for e-auction on September 25 due to outstanding dues.

The notice reveals that Ajay Singh Deol, also known as Sunny Deol, had borrowed an amount of Rs 55,99,80,766.33 from the Bank of Baroda. He had acted as a guarantor for this loan. The bank has announced its intention to virtually auction the property to recover the owed sum of Rs 55.99 crore.
The bungalow, which houses Sunny Super Sound, the actor’s office, a preview theatre, and two post-production suites, serves as the base of Deol’s business activities. This establishment was set up in the late 80s. The auction procedure involves the Bank of Baroda seeking approval from the District Magistrate, after which the successful bidder will gain physical possession of the property.
During the virtual auction, the highest bidder will gain symbolic possession of the bungalow. Once approved by the District Magistrate, the buyer can take actual possession, a process that could span from months to years.
Reports indicate that Deol had mortgaged his studio in order to secure funds for his directorial project “Ghayal Once Again” in 2016. To settle his debts with financiers, he opted to obtain a loan against his property.
Sunny’s representative has issued a statement affirming that the auction matter is in the process of being resolved. The spokesperson is quoted as saying, “We are in the process of resolving this issue and the issue will be resolved. We request for no further speculation on the same,” as reported by Etimes.
Meanwhile, “Gadar 2” continues to thrive at the box office. The film, featuring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles, has been shattering box office records since its release. In a recent development, “Gadar 2” collected a remarkable Rs 31.07 crore on a Saturday, surpassing the record previously held by “Baahubali 2.”
According to Bollywood Hungama, “Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion” had earned Rs. 26.5 crore on its second Saturday. “Gadar 2” outperformed this figure, establishing a new milestone. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh disclosed that “Gadar 2” has now accumulated Rs 31.07 crore on a Saturday, bringing its total box office collection in India to Rs 336.20 crore. The movie is anticipated to enter the Rs 350-crore club on Sunday and make its mark in the coveted Rs 400-crore club.
