The Rajinikanth starrer “Jailer” has achieved a remarkable feat, amassing an impressive worldwide box office collection of 500 crores within a mere 10 days since its release. Notably, on the second Saturday following its debut, the film garnered an impressive 18 crores in box office earnings. As per the reliable tracking source sacnilk, the movie achieved a notable 249.5 crores in revenue within India on its 10th day of release.

This accomplishment marks the third Tamil film to swiftly enter the coveted 500 crore club, underlining its popularity. The film boasted an occupancy rate of 53.79% in the Tamil market, while in the Telugu market, it secured a commendable 46.73% occupancy. Notably, film analyst Manobala Vijayabalan has confirmed that the film succeeded in reaching the 500 crore milestone worldwide within the span of just 10 days. This makes “Jailer” the third Tamil film to achieve such a financial milestone in such a brief period, following the successes of “2.0” and “PS-2.”
In a historic parallel, the earlier Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar collaboration, “2.0,” clinched the 500 crore global earnings record within a mere seven days. “Jailer” now joins the ranks of Rajinikanth’s films that have entered the exclusive 300 crore club, becoming his fourth movie to achieve this feat. The esteemed company includes “Enthiran” in 2010, “Kabali” in 2016, and “3.0” in 2018, all of which achieved earnings of Rs 300 crore.
Impressively, “Jailer” has secured the title of the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023 to date, a remarkable feat accomplished on its very opening day. The previous record holder was director Mani Ratnam’s creation “PS-2,” which had collected a respectable ₹32 crores on its opening day.
Rajinikanth takes on the role of Tiger Muthuvel Pandian in director Nelson’s “Jailor.” In the film’s compelling narrative, Tiger endeavors to thwart a determined group with the singular goal of liberating their leader from incarceration, regardless of the cost. The star-studded cast also includes Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vinayakan, Yogi Babu, Mohanlal, and Jackie Shroff, further adding to the movie’s allure and success.
